About SDFNL
San Diego Food Not Lawns is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to food justice. We work to create a food system where food security is a right, where all people have equal access to healthy, fresh, affordable, sustainable, culturally-appropriate food. We promote local seasonal food and democratic participation because they embody that justice and empower the movement to a just system. San Diego Food Not Lawns also offers workshops, presentations, events and other programs throughout the year to raise awareness of the problems facing our food system and the benefits of growing edibles versus lawns and to offer strategies for preserving and creating our own food along with creative solutions that cultivate a healthier, sustainable, just world.
