San Diego Food Not Lawns

Get Involved

We would love for you to join us - there's plenty to do! To add your voice and passion to the vision of our group and events, please come to a meeting and/or event. If you are unable to attend meetings, but still want to help in one way or another, send us an email and we'll contact you.

You can also stay current by joining our general email discussion list.
If you're in North County, also consider the North Coastal FNL yahoo group as well.

Meetings: We have potluck-style gatherings to plan our events and keep up on any other details. You are not required to bring food - though do bring a plate and utensils (if you forget, we always get creative).

When: approx 6-8 pm. The "Central" chapter meets usually every two weeks. North County Coastal meets about once a month. It's best to check the projects/calendar and discussion lists for changes/updates!

Where: Current details will be on the calendar, though generally you can expect:
~ North County Coastal may be at the Solana Center or at individual homes.
~ Central group locations vary by seasons and projects. See calendar for current one.

Agenda: We usually start with any introductions and review recent news and events, talk about our next steps, etc... Come share your voice!

Email Lists: At this time, the best way to get the most up to date news is through our email discussion list. Messages are often about our meetings or events, but list members may also send other information the list might be interested in - a link to an article, questions about gardening, a local class or event, or other such messages related to food or our group. For more details or to join, please go to: sdfoodnotlawns on

We also have started a newsletter-only list, which will (once we start) generally receive only one email every two to four weeks. For more info, go to: sdfoodnotlawns-news on
